At All Saints, we believe a high-quality computing education equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. Our pupils need to embrace the technological advances that have occurred over the last thirty years, understanding how these advances have impacted everyday lives to create a digital world. Using inspiration from the National Curriculum, 2013, we acknowledge that the core of computing is computer science, where pupils are taught how digital systems work, and how to put this knowledge to use through programming. From gaining this knowledge, pupils can start to use the information to create digital programs, systems and a range of content.

A priority at our school is to teach our pupils to be safe when using computers and the internet, making them responsible for the way they access the technology available in the wider world. We therefore make sure that digital literacy is an area acknowledged, taught and reflected upon throughout the year when teaching, even when using digital technology across different curriculum areas.
