Team Teach

All Saints Church of England Primary school is proud to be able to offer Team Teach training. Team Teach is an accredited, award-winning provider of positive behaviour management training suitable for use throughout the education sector, from early years upwards.

Team Teach is one of the strategies which equips staff working in a school environment with the skills they need to understand behaviour, manage challenging situations, and minimise serious incidents.

Team Teach offers different strategies and a range of risk reduction techniques which enables staff to work together to safeguard individuals. It supports children and staff where there are specific needs. As a school it is our philosophy that all behaviour is a form of communication and as part of this training the underlying needs relating to behaviours are explored.

We value the importance of respect and positive relationships throughout a school. Our training fosters a culture of team work and support, and all strategies are understood in the context of a holistic approach to classroom management.

We are able to offer Level 1 and Level 2 training. The level of training needed will be discussed with each setting to ensure the most appropriate techniques are taught to meet the needs of the pupils in the setting. Following on from this we can then offer refresher training as needed.

A toolkit of strategies

Team Teach training helps trained staff in your organisation respond in a way that is reasonable, proportionate and necessary.

The techniques covered promote a respectful, supportive approach. As part of this training, you will learn strategies that maintain positive relationships and encourage de-escalation together with a thorough needs analysis. For lower-risk settings this may include safe positive handling techniques, including personal safety, appropriate for the environment.

For higher-risk settings, our positive behaviour training teaches strategies that ensure personal safety and the reduction of risk and restraint. Participants learn a wide range of authorised physical restraint and handling techniques specifically designed to support and respond to distressed behaviour safely. This training includes relevant legal framework, standards and expectations related to the use of force, and reporting, recording, monitoring and evaluating requirements.
