School Visits

Throughout normal school years, educational visits are organised support curriculum work. Your child will visit the local environment and also go further afield on longer day visits which involves a journey either by coach or train. These visits are important as first hand experiences.

We also have a performance groups visiting school each year. This could be a theatre group or a puppeteer. These groups are partly funded by school. The Governors’ charging policy (to pay for these events) is to ask parents for a voluntary contribution towards the costs, but no child is excluded if parents do not pay.

However, if we do not receive enough voluntary contributions, some visits and/or events may have to be cancelled.

In Years 4 and 6 residential visits are organised. These involve overnight stays and are not compulsory but strongly encouraged. In previous years, Year 4 children have visited Whitby to support the Geography curriculum, and in Year 6, children visit outdoor and adventurous activity centres to support the PE curriculum.
