Throughout the school year, educational visits are organised as part of curriculum work. Your child will visit the local environment and also go further a field on a longer visit which involves a journey either by coach or train. These visits are important as first hand experiences.
We also have a performance groups visiting school each year. This could be a theatre group or a puppeteer. These groups are partly funded by school. The Governors’ charging policy (to pay for these events) is to ask parents for a voluntary contribution towards the costs, but no child is excluded if parents do not pay.
The law says that children must participate in all activities offered by school, whether or not they contribute to the cost.
Because of this, if we do not receive enough voluntary contributions, some visits may have to be cancelled. We rely on your help by continuing to send your voluntary contributions so we can provide these first hand experiences for your child.
